Organizations
Organizations let several Connect subscribers share one URL and one API key. Your system manages a single key for the whole department.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including changing roles and transferring ownership |
| Admin | Manage the URL and key, invite and remove members, edit member labels, view delivery and activity logs |
| Member | Scan only; cannot see the URL or key |
Create and invite
- The owner creates an organization in the App under Settings, Connect
- Set and verify the organization URL (same as a personal endpoint)
- Create an invite code (valid 24 hours, with a use limit) and share it as text or a QR code
- Colleagues enter or scan the code in the App
Each member needs their own Connect subscription. If a member’s subscription lapses, only that member stops sending. An organization can have up to 50 members.
Identifying the sender
Each event’s data.source identifies the sender:
"source": { "org_id": "org_...", "member_id": "mem_...", "member_label": "3F OR iPhone 2" }
Admins set member_label in the portal or App. Use a device location or purpose, not a person’s name.
When the owner’s subscription lapses
The organization enters a 14-day grace period and delivery continues. During that time any admin can transfer ownership to themselves or another subscribed member. If nothing happens by the end, delivery pauses (data is kept) until ownership is transferred.
Your personal endpoint
Joining an organization pauses your personal endpoint (its settings are kept). Leaving restores it.
